Santa Claus's mailbox
The New Year is approaching, children and adults are looking forward to festive festivities, ice skating and sledding, bright lights on the Christmas trees and long-awaited gifts from Santa Claus. However, the New Year holidays are approaching both in kindergarten and at school, for which parents and children are asked to do any interesting crafts.
We suggest creating with your children a necessary and useful craft with your own hands - Santa Claus's mailbox.
For this master class we will need materials:
First of all, let’s clear the table of unnecessary items and get started.
1. On the lid of the shoe box, draw a slot for letters. Let me remind you that the smallest envelope is 11 cm by 22 cm. If you intend to use Santa Claus's box for its intended purpose, you need to take this into account. If the slot has a purely decorative function, its size does not matter.
2. Using a stationery knife, make a cut along the drawn lines.
3. Mark out the required area of decorative film for the bottom of the box.Remove the paper from the film and carefully glue the box. The advantage of the film is that if something doesn’t work out, it can be removed and re-glued. Be sure to squeeze out all the bubbles with your hand, otherwise it will be ugly.
4. We perform the same actions with the top cover. Carefully covering it with red film. It should be noted that instead of decorative film, of course, you can use red paper. We'll cover the whole box with it.
5. Make a slit with a stationery knife and bend the edges.
6. We make a belt for Santa Claus or Santa Claus - whatever you like. Take black cardboard and cut out a strip. We calculate the length of the strip so that it bends inside the top cover. The width of the strip is at your discretion. In this case we used velvet paper. It has its pros and cons. It always looks great, but the edges and corners tend to fray over time. Only your preferences matter here.
7. Make a plaque. On the back of the cardboard, use a ruler and pencil to mark how the plaque will look. See photo.
8. Cut out the plaque from gold cardboard using scissors or a stationery knife, whichever is more convenient for you.
9. We thread a black cardboard belt through the gold plaque and secure it with glue, as shown in the photo. We glue only on the inside of the top lid of the box.
10. Putting it all together. Decorate with a cap.
Now our craft is ready. The holiday mailbox for Santa Claus, created by yourself, is ready. This New Year's craft can be taken to kindergarten or school. She will definitely delight both children and adults, because she resembles Father Frost himself in a red fur coat with a black belt.
