Cake "Prague"

There are many recipes for Prague cake, they are all similar and at the same time different from each other. But they have one thing in common. “Prague” is an incredibly delicious chocolate cake, very easy to make. Here is our Prague cake recipe, proven over the years. At first glance, it may seem that there are a lot of ingredients and the cake will be difficult to prepare. It's not like that at all. Even a child or an inexperienced housewife can prepare this cake.
To prepare the Prague cake, you need the following ingredients:
For the test:
  • 2 eggs,
  • 200 g sour cream (15-20% fat content),
  • Glass of sugar
  • Two glasses of flour (about 500g),
  • Condensed milk (200 ml),
  • A packet of baking powder,
  • Cocoa (2-3 teaspoons),

For cream:
  • Condensed milk,
  • Butter (you will also need it to grease the pan),
  • Cocoa,
  • Vanilla sugar.

We take the ingredients for the cream in quantities “to taste”; you can also prepare chocolate cream according to your proven recipe.
If desired, add nuts, bananas, dark chocolate pieces.

First, beat the eggs with sugar. It is not at all necessary to do this with a mixer; just beat with a fork or whisk until foam appears. Add sour cream and condensed milk to the eggs.Mix thoroughly. Now add all the dry ingredients. Carefully sifted flour (it is impossible to indicate exactly how much flour you need, you should get a thick but flowing dough), baking powder (you can use 2 teaspoons of soda instead), cocoa. Knead the dough thoroughly until all the lumps of flour and cocoa are gone.

Bake the cake in a buttered pan. The crust can be baked in two ways. Pour out all the dough at once, and then cut it into two layers. Or divide the dough into two parts and bake one at a time. I like the first option better, since the cut cakes are better soaked in cream. However, it is worth considering that the dough rises greatly in size and can take a long time to bake in the middle. I bake my crust in a slow cooker for 60-70 minutes (longer than the “Baking” mode suggests). If you use the oven, it is better to take a deep baking dish and make sure that the dough does not burn. If you missed the cake and it is slightly burnt, you need to wait for the cake to cool completely and carefully scrape off the burnt part with a knife. While the cake(s) are baking and cooling, you can prepare the cream. To do this, we beat the butter, softened at room temperature, with condensed milk and 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa, as well as vanilla sugar.

When the cakes have cooled completely, brush them with cream. Add bananas (nuts) to the middle between the two cake layers.

Bon appetit!

Thanks for the recipe! I always thought that making the Prague cake was labor-intensive and time-consuming. But your recipe is something. It turned out that everything was really simple, and imagine everything worked out right away. There is no need to talk about the fact that this is incredibly tasty.
