Unusual Valentine

It's always nice to receive a token of attention, a souvenir, a small present. It is especially nice when this gift is a symbol of your love. An original valentine card can be such a sign of attention. With just a little patience and accuracy, you can create beautiful and memorable images from plain paper. crafts. In our valentine we will combine two techniques for working with paper: trimming and quilling.
We will need:
  • crepe paper,
  • quilling paper,
  • two-color paper,
  • cardboard,
  • pencil,
  • glue,
  • scissors,
  • special device for quilling.

We will need

Crepe paper, quilling paper, and forked sticks are available at your office supply store. If desired, you can replace the crepe paper with simple multi-colored napkins, cut thin strips from two-color paper, and use an awl, toothpick or knitting needle instead of a quilling device.
We cut out the base of our valentine - a heart - from cardboard and draw a second, smaller one on it.

Cut out the base from cardboard

Cut strips of crepe paper 1 cm wide.

cut strips

We cut the strips into squares measuring approximately 1x1 cm. From two-color paper we cut out three strips approximately 1 cm wide.Choose green paper for quilling.

Cutting strips into squares

Wrap a square of paper tightly around the blunt end of a pencil and coat the end with glue.

grease the end with glue

Press the glue-coated leaves tightly onto the workpiece.

glue the leaves to the workpiece

Glue both hearts around the perimeter.

We wind the quilling strips onto a jig or knitting needle.

Fill the big heart with pieces of crepe paper.

We randomly fill the shape of a small heart with green blanks - these are the leaves of our bouquet.

Now the most difficult part - making roses from strips of two-color paper. Bend the tip of the strip inward.

Bend the tip of the strip

We wrap the strip around the stick two or three times.

wrap the strip

Remove the workpiece and bend the strip outward.

We continue to fold

We continue to fold the strip until the end of the lapel.

turn the strip outward

Again, turn the strip outward and roll the tube further. At this stage, you do not need to squeeze the workpiece too much.

Secure the tip with glue

Secure the tip of the formed rose with glue and drip a drop of glue into the center to hold the petals together.

such roses

We make three such roses. To complete the composition, you can form rose buds from quilling paper of a suitable color. We are finally forming our Valentine card.
