Lamb

The New Year 2015 will soon come, which, according to the Eastern horoscope, will be symbolized by the sign of the Blue Sheep. We give an example of a hand-made toy that can be used as a decoration (for example, in a car or on a holiday tree).

soft toy sheep

You can make such a toy from scrap materials - I used a blue hood from an old jacket, and by the end of the second evening this toy was completely ready.

We will need:
1. Threads (white, blue and light blue), needle;
2. Fabric;
3. Cotton wool or padding polyester.

We will need

To all of the above, add scissors, glue, black and white paper, tape (to make eyes, nose and mouth) - and you can get to work.

We will need

We start by drawing a sample of the future toy.

We start by drawing a sample

We cut out the resulting drawing, then divide it into separate parts, redraw them on another sheet of paper and correct the parts so that they become whole. This will make it easier to work with the fabric.

We start by drawing a sample

Having cut out all the samples, we begin to work with the fabric.

Cut out the resulting picture

I drew each sample twice on separate edges of the fabric: first the front side, and then the back, turning the sample over to the reverse side.I wrote the names of the colors on the samples so as not to forget what color each future detail should have.
We cut out the parts of our toy with a small indentation for the seam.

Cut out the resulting picture

At first I made the seam internal, but I noticed that the toy lost its clear lines and became less like a sheep; Therefore, I connected the parts with an external seam. Having sewn their edges together, stuff them with cotton wool or padding polyester, and then sew them up completely:

Now let's get down to making our sheep's ears.

let's start working with fabric

We don’t fill the sheep’s ears with cotton wool, but we sew white fabric to them on the front side, which seems to represent the inside of the ear:

Next we sew the ears, forelock, tail and head of the sheep to the body. I also made the sheep’s forelock without cotton wool, but if desired, any of the readers and site visitors who may try to make the same toy for the New Year holiday can fill the sheep’s forelock with cotton wool. All that remains is to make the eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks.

sewing the details

We make eyes with a mouth and nose from black and white paper and, gluing them with tape so that the paper does not deteriorate quickly, attach them to the head with glue.

making eyes

After the eyes are glued, we make a loop in the toy so that it can stay on the Christmas tree branch (the main thing here is to install the loop correctly so that the sheep stays level).

Draw on the cheeks with a pink pencil.

Now our toy is ready. I hope that it will become a good symbol of the coming New Year and will bring the most important thing to your home - comfort, good mood on New Year's Eve and, of course, happiness.
