Money monkey made from sugar paste

On the eve of the New Year, whose owner is a monkey, I decided to present to you my master class on sculpting a delicious, edible monkey from sugar mastic, which will undoubtedly decorate your New Year's cake.
Let's start with painting the mastic. We will need mastic in brown, flesh-colored, red and white. I first tried to color the monkey brown by adding brown dye, but I wasn't very happy with the shade, so I mixed red to get a rich brown color. Green and yellow dyes, in the end I got this quite bright monkey. To obtain flesh-colored mastic, or rather not quite flesh-colored, I would say light beige, I added a piece of brown to the white mastic and stirred well.
It is better to paint the mastic in advance, after which it needs time, let it sit for a while in the refrigerator or on the table (just be sure to wrap it in film or in a bag). Then during the sculpting process, the mastic will not float.
Let's start with the sculpting process itself.Let's roll an oval out of brown mastic, flatten its bottom a little so that it stands, and then highlight the tummy by simply flattening the upper part of the body. We will also make the paws and tail, and also roll a ball for the head.

While the blanks are drying, we will begin to sculpt the paws, or rather the feet and hands on the legs of the monkey’s arm. We first form a mitten from a slightly flattened oval of beige mastic, and then cut it between the fingers, after which we straighten each finger a little to give it a natural look. These parts need to be glued to the legs and arms of the monkey.

From the same beige mastic we form a tummy by simply rolling out the mastic and cutting out a pear-shaped shape, which we glue to the body, moistening it with water.

We form a mouth, a nose, draw eyes and we get such a cute monkey.

We make ears by giving small pieces of mastic the shape of an ear, using a stack with balls, and also inserting pieces of beige mastic inside.

We connect the parts. We glue the arms, legs, don’t forget about the tail, put the ears in place, and connect the head itself to the body with a toothpick.

We will make hairs on the head from brown mastic by simply gluing thin flagella.

Our monkey is ready, but I want to give it some solemnity and celebration, so I decided to put a New Year's cap on her head, which I made from red and white mastic. And by placing a small bag of money in our hands, our ordinary monkey turns into a money monkey, which will not only decorate the cake, but will also bring financial profit next year.
